FEATURE SCREENWRITING & SHORT SCRIPT COMPETITIONS

Following are the deadlines and rules & guidelines for the 2012 call for entries:

Feature Screenwriting Competition - Winter Phase:
October 1: $45 Early Bird Deadline
November 1: $55 Regular Deadline
December 1: $65 Late Deadline
December 31: $80 Extended WAB Deadline (with WAB discount $65)

Feature Screenwriting Competition - Spring Phase:
February 1: $45 Early Bird Deadline
March 1: $55 Regular Deadline
March 20: $65 Late Deadline
April 1: $80 Extended WAB Deadline (with WAB discount $65)

5x5 Short Script Competition:
October 1: $25 Early Bird Deadline
December 1: $30 Regular Deadline
January 1: $35 Late Deadline
February 1: $50 Extended WAB Deadline


RULES & REGULATIONS - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Applicants must submit:

One copy of an original feature film screenplay, approximately 80-130 pages in length, formatted in industry standard screenplay format and written in English. (for the 5x5 Short Script Competition entries must be between 5-8 pages in length).

Please note: Only original works are accepted. Submissions may not be based, in whole or in part, on material, fictional or nonfictional, produced or unproduced, published or unpublished, unless such material was originally created and published/produced by the applicant(s), in another medium.

No revisions or updated versions will be accepted beyond the initial submission.

A completed application form and an 'entry fee' check or money order (if not paying directly online by credit card).

Applicants may submit multiple entries, however, those must be submitted separately along with respective fee(s) for each separate submission.

Collaborative works are accepted and are treated as (1) submission, regardless of how many authors are responsible for creating the work.

In the event that your project is selected as a "finalist", you may be required to provide additional items, such as personal photos (digital and/or hard copy) to be used for program booklet listings, and short bios, along with revised synopses.

DOMANI VISION FILM SOCIETY shall not be held liable for damages and/or loss resulting from shipping/handling and/or technical problems.

DOMANI VISION FILM SOCIETY, based upon its own opinions and voting procedures, reserves the right to grant no awards if there is no entry that qualifies with sufficient merit.

The applicant(s) agree to hold Domani Vision Film Society harmless from, and defended against all claims, demands, costs, judgments, losses, expenses (including attorneys fees), and liabilities resulting out of or in connection with any and all claims of third parties, whether or not groundless, based on any stories submitted to the Visionfest Feature Screenplay Competition & Short Script Competition or on any screenplay developed out of such stories.

Submitted material shall be retained by Domani Vision Film Society for archival purposes and reference, with any and all related compensation waived by applicant(s).

The burden of obtaining copyright and all proprietary interests for the submitted material rests solely on the applicant(s).

To the accuracy of the information supplied, any false or misleading information on the application, or any failure to comply with the rules and regulations set forth by Domani Vision Film Society, may result in disqualification and forfeiture of any awards or cash prizes.
